Oxfam Announce Film Campaign

Oxfam Vintage clothing have announced a film campaign to promote their range of charity clothing. The campaign, by RKCR/Y&R and shot by photographer Robert Erdmann, features models from Elite and FM in a series of adverts featuring unique vintage outfits from Oxfam Shops.

In true vintage style, the theme of the campaign centres around the 1940’s, 1950’s and 1960’s. It follows the launch of Oxfam's online shop last year which has since been featured in many well known fashion mags such as Elle, Cosmopolitan and In Style to name a few.

The films are set to run online from February. Enjoy!

Hard times ahead?

With unemployment on the rise, tuition fees hitting the roof and the added anxiety of a near-impossible housing market, this generation of students and graduates are under more pressure than ever!

At a time when my four years of hard work at university should be starting to pay off, career success and financial security have never seemed further away.

A recent poll undertaken by Cosmopolitan magazine revealed the following:

· 25% of people can't get a foot on the career ladder of their choice

· Nearly 1/3 of people have experienced redundancy or unemployment in the past year

· House prices are stopping 74% of people from being able to own their own home

· 50% of people with degrees wouldn't go to university if they were given the choice again

It may sound dull, but don't be put off! Work harder to make those key contacts, volunteer for work placements and keep a positive mental attitude, all these things will get you closer to your career goals.

Back in the day

As part of my dissertation project, I am delving into the back catalogues of Cosmopolitan magazine to analyse changes in editorial language over time. I have been fascinated by the mags and was lucky enough to meet with the editor to discuss them in more detail. I have decided to post my favourite cover below. It truly captures the fun and fashion (spandex- eek) of the 1970s. Enjoy!

Will.i.am the PR Man

Intel has appointed non other than Black Eyed Peas front man Will.i.am as its Director of Creative Innovation. "Nearly everything I do involves processors and computers," Mr. am told attendees at an Intel sales and marketing conference in Anaheim, California. "And when I see an Intel chip I think of all the creative minds involved that help to amplify my own creativity."

Seems he fancied a career change, let's hope this doesn't mean the end of the almighty Peas! Where is the love?
